Next 900™ List
JAM Internet Television is a media company that through its Next 900 annual feature provides its viewers with a clear and intelligent list of America’s most promising companies of the future. Jamit News looks for companies that through innovation, technology, management, service, or leadership are poised to make a significant impact on American business in the near future. The Next 900 list is selected by a Jamit News committee from companies nominated by key consultants or through submissions from this site.
Methodology
The NEXT 900 are selected by a Jamit News committee from companies nominated by key consultants and through evaluated submissions from the Jamit Networks site. Inclusion in the Next 900 is based entirely on a subjective evaluation by editors from Jamit News with the help of respected consultants. Which companies make the final list is based on an assessment of a number of factors. These include (but are not limited to) the nature of marketplace commentary; a company’s visibility, innovation, leadership, and profile as reflected by the views of our consultants; and the nature of products and services undertaken. The ultimate selection of a company is a balanced synthesis of all these elements.
Companies are nominated to the Next 900 in three ways. First, companies in the previous Next 900 list are automatically nominated to be considered for the next edition. Second, Jamit News uses respected consultants to nominate companies. Third, companies can nominate themselves through our website.
To ensure the credibility of the list, Jamit News commissions its research department to carry out an in-depth study to analyze and screen its experts for firm alliance bias. Our researchers and editors then meet with a number of these experts. Using data collated from industry research and interviews with our experts, we compile a preliminary list of Next 900 companies. As a final verification we discuss this list with a select group of advisers. At the culmination of the process we are able to identify those companies that we believe are the most promising companies for the future. By definition, some of these companies are taking considerable innovative and market risks. Some will succeed and some will not. That is the nature of business. Our list is simply our snapshot-in-time of the companies to watch in the future.
Applicants meeting the following criteria are given preference:
- Headquartered in North America,
- Privately held and not listed on any exchanges anywhere in the world.
